Nabire, November 14, 2025 – In order to improve the quality of human resources in Central Papua Province, the Central Papua Provincial Government, through the Education and Culture Office, is collaborating with the Mutiara Hitam Papua Foundation (YMHP) and the SAPA Foundation to implement an English language training program for the communities in Mimika and Nabire Regencies.
The signing of this cooperation agreement took place on Friday
(11/14/2025) at the Central Papua Province Education and Culture Office,
located at Jalan Pepera No. 17, Karang Mulia Village, Nabire Regency. The
agreement was signed by Mrs. Nurhaidah, Acting Head of the Central Papua
Province Education and Culture Office, as the first party, Mrs. Mina V Sarwom,
Chair of the Mutiara Hitam Papua Foundation, as the second party, and
representatives from the SAPA Foundation.
On this occasion, Ms. Nurhaidah expressed her hope that this English
language training program would open up more opportunities for the people of
Central Papua, especially in the fields of education and employment. “By
mastering English, the community is expected to be able to communicate more
easily at the global level, thereby increasing their competitiveness and
facilitating their access to various information and job opportunities,” she
said.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Mina V Sarwom, Chairwoman of the Mutiara Hitam Papua
Foundation, welcomed this collaboration. “We are very enthusiastic about
implementing this training program as well as possible, and we hope to have a
significant positive impact on the communities in Mimika and Nabire Regencies,”
she said. Representatives from the SAPA Foundation also signed an English
language training cooperation agreement with the Central Papua Provincial
Education Office and supported this program, with the hope of expanding access
to education for the local community.
This English language training program is part of the Central Papua
Provincial Government's efforts to improve the quality of education in the
region. This cooperation is also in line with the Government's policy to
strengthen English language skills at the local level, which is expected to
prepare the community to face growing global challenges.
The training will cover various skill levels, from beginner to advanced,
with the aim of reaching a diverse range of people. The program is also
expected to expand the development of other skills in line with the
ever-changing job market.
This English language training course is expected to provide long-term
benefits, increase the capacity and capabilities of the people of Central
Papua, and help them compete in the global market and contribute to regional
economic development.
